Legal obligations
We may process and retain certain information where we are required to do so by law, including accounting and tax requirements.

5. Email marketing
We may occasionally send emails about TimberCulture products, seasonal reminders, special offers and other relevant updates.
We will only send electronic marketing where we have an appropriate basis to do so.
Customers and the soft opt-in
Where permitted by the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), we may use the customer "soft opt-in".
This may apply where:
You provide your email address directly to TimberCulture while purchasing or negotiating to purchase a product or service from us;
The marketing relates to TimberCulture's own similar products or services;
We give you a clear opportunity to opt out when we collect your details; and
We give you a clear and simple opportunity to unsubscribe from every subsequent marketing email.
For example, this may include emails about logs, kindling, firelighters, seasonal firewood reminders, related TimberCulture products and special offers.
Where we rely on the soft opt-in, our UK GDPR lawful basis for processing your personal information for this purpose is our legitimate interests.
Marketing by consent
In other circumstances, we may ask you to positively opt in to receiving marketing emails from TimberCulture.
Where we rely on consent, you will not be opted in unless you take a positive action indicating that you would like to receive our emails.

If you opt out or unsubscribe, we will stop sending you marketing communications.
We may retain limited information on a suppression list so that we can ensure we respect your request and do not accidentally add you back to our marketing audience.
Opting out of marketing does not affect transactional communications that are necessary to fulfil your orders, such as order confirmations, payment information and delivery updates.
